Baker Lady Card

I love this adorable baker lady! She looks like she could step into any kitchen and whip up a batch of cookies like nobody’s business!

I started this card by stamping her onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock, along with a yummy cake. I also stamped a mask onto full backing post it notes.

I used 3 colours of Distress Oxide for the background. I started with ‘antique linen’ closest to the baker. I wanted to create a sort of halo around her body. Then I used ‘Worn Lipstick’ to blend into the antique linen. Finally I used ‘Picked Raspberry’ around the outer edge. I love how these 3 colours blend together.

I trimmed the card front down to 4 x 4. I used my Cricut to cut a scalloped border, this particular design has rounded corners between the scallops, so it was perfect for this card.

I coloured her in using Prismacolor Premier pencils. I knew she needed a plaid apron, but I have absolutely no idea how to colour a plaid pattern. So instead, I paper pieced it from a 6×6 sheet of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper. I just coloured in some shading in a dark turquoise colour.

I embossed a sentiment from the set in black embossing powder and used a few embellishments like Nuvo drops, shimmer pen, and glossy accents.

Originally, I had berries stamped on the top of the cake, but in the end I didn’t like that look so I used a heart rhinestone.

I love the way this card turned out and I definitely see myself using this set a lot!

Thanks for looking!
