Milk & Cookies Spinner Card

Hello crafters!

Today I’ve combined the Milk & Cookies collection from Doodlebug and the Milk & Cookies stamps from Lawn Fawn to create a fun spinning card!

I started by trimming a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock down to 4″ x 5.25″ and die cut the stitched shape for Mrs. Clause to go in. I also cut this shape out of the card base, by placing the card front on top as a guide, and running both through a Sizzix.

I used Ranger black ink to stamp the cookies, milk cartons and glasses all around the card. I used Color Box inks for the turquoise hearts and pink straws.

I coloured in the images using Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils. I wanted the faces on the cookies to stand out more, so instead of using brown, I used a light peach as the center colour and then blended the brown in with some Gamsol. I love the way the cookie colours turned out!

After everything was coloured, I used 2 Mrs. Clause images from the Doodlebug Milk & Cookies collection planner stickers. These were the perfect size! I chose Mrs. Clause because the image is the symmetrical, so I could flip the second sticker around without having any white showing on either side.

I don’t have a tutorial for creating a spinning card just yet, but basically what you do is adhere the top sticker over a piece of clear thread or fishing line then flip the sticker over and place the other one on the back, with the image showing. Then you sandwich that thread between your card base and card front, making sure to adhere the thread down really well.

To make her spin, you simply open the card and spin Mrs. Clause in one direction and then close the card carefully. When the card is opened, the thread will spin to unravel, spinning Mrs. Clause right along with it!

I added a sentiment and some baking themed stickers, also from the planner sticker sheets, to finish it off on the front.

I adhered a piece of Lawn Fawn Rainbow Plaid paper inside to have that nice turquoise showing through behind Mrs. Clause. To finish it all off, I used Spectrum Sparkle markers to give some shimmer to the cookies.

I hope you love this card as much as I loved creating it! Head over to Instagram for a peek at how she spins!
