I’ve been playing around with the MFT mermaid stamp set and I just can’t get enough of it! Now that summer is on its way out, I don’t see any reason to put these summery images away!
I used Doodlebug’s fall line from last year, Flea Market to piece together some fall themed mermaid tags. Take a look:
I love the way these turned out! I began by stamping the mermaids onto plain white cardstock and fussy cut them out, leaving a small white border.
I chose patterned paper for each ones hair, tail, and chest and stamped the images onto that paper.
Here comes the part that took the longest and left me with dents in my fingers…fussy cutting all those parts out! The hair was by far the most difficult.
Once the pieces were all cut out, I adhered them to the mermaid stamped on the white card stock. I coloured in the skin, and star then added some glitter to sparkle them up a bit!
Here’s how they looked:
I love the hexagon tail, I think it’s my favourite!
Since I don’t send any cards for fall, and I don’t know a lot of fall birthdays, I thought tags would be best!
I die cut rectangles using stitched rectangle dies, out of more Flea Market paper. I layered them with other embellishments and finally added a few spots of white Nuvo drops.
This is a technique I will definitely be trying again in the near future! Thanks for looking and click below to share on Facebook and Pinterest!
