Birthday Card

Good morning!

It has been forever since I’ve posted….life has been crazy busy! But I’m back today with a bright & fun birthday card that I LOVE!

I started by stamping 3 different globe stamps using Versamark Ink and embossed them with Martha Stewart green embossing powder.

I Played around with some watercolours and created the blue background. (I was so in to this project that, at this point, I forgot to take pictures of the process!)

Once that was dry, I cut a piece of transparency that I picked up at Michael’s quite a while ago. It’s by Studio Calico and called “Transparency. White Words”. I cut it about 1cm longer on either side so I could fold it behind the paper and not have any adhesive showing.

Once that was done, I matted it with a piece of patterned cardstock from Echo Park’s new Perfect Princess collection. I just love the way the striped paper makes the clouds pop!

The clouds and birthday sentiment are both from Doodlebug’s Fairy Tales collection. I used foam squares to make them pop off the sky a bit.

At this point I was so in love with how this card turned out I decided to mount the card front to an A2 base and just leave it at that.  I just LOVE how this card turned out…. it will be a hard one to give away!
