Sprinkled With Pizza?

Hello everyone!

I have a Lawn Fawn project here for you today! I’ve been playing with ‘Pizza My Heart’ this week. It’s such a fun stamp set!

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I love to think outside of the box and mix and match sets, and get as much use out of my supplies as possible. Lawn Fawn’s sets mix and match so well (most of the time!).

For this project I used ‘Sprinkled with Joy’ and ‘Pizza my Heart’. My vision was to have the oven open to reveal a heart pizza.

I ran into one bump along the way… the pizza is way bigger than the inside of the oven! If I simply laid the pizza in the oven (as you would the cookies that come with the set), it would stick out the top of the oven door.

The modifications I made in order to do this:

#1. Adhere your top oven layer (with the opening door) to the bottom layer oven ONLY around the edges. Do not apply glue to the back of the stove top or controls. You will be sliding the top of the pizza in there.

#2. At the bottom of the top oven, on the inside, where the fold is to open the door…glue the front of the pizza, at the bottom, to the inside of the oven door.

Basically, You want the pizza to be pulled out of the oven when you open the door.

#3. When assembling, slide the top of the pizza in between the 2 oven layers. That way, when you open the door, the top of the pizza will be pulled down, and visible.

Check out the photos and video below to see what I mean:

This was exactly what I had envisioned! I was so happy when it was finished, I couldn’t stop opening and closing the oven door!

Here’s a quick video showing it in motion:

(I have no idea how to rotate the video, sorry!)

If you’d be interested in seeing a video tutorial on how to make this card, please let me know in the comments.
